The Competition Authority and the National Authority for Probity, Prevention, and the Fight Against Corruption (INPPLC) signed, on Thursday in Rabat, a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening institutional coordination and complementarity between the two institutions.
The agreement seeks to enhance transparency, integrity, the regulation of economic practices, and good governance, in line with the constitutional and legal mandates of both authorities. It reflects their shared commitment to preventing and combating unfair practices affecting economic relations, market integrity, and sound economic and administrative management, in the public interest.
Under the terms of the agreement, the two institutions will, in particular:
• Strengthen the prevention and repression of anti-competitive practices and corruption through a coordinated and complementary approach;
• Develop joint training, capacity-building, and expertise-exchange initiatives in the fields of competition control, corruption prevention, business ethics, and governance;
• Organise awareness-raising activities, conferences, seminars, and workshops on issues of common interest;
• Enhance the exchange of information and data relating to commercial practices and risk situations likely to undermine competition or market integrity.
The agreement also provides for the establishment of a joint implementation and monitoring mechanism to ensure close coordination in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of joint action plans, with a view to ensuring the effective implementation of its provisions.
This cooperation marks an important step towards strengthening institutional complementarity and contributing to a more transparent and competitive national economy, grounded in the principles of integrity, accountability, and trust in market regulation mechanisms.
