5 days
18 journalists
As part of its efforts to promote transparency and strengthen the role of the media in the fight against corruption, the National Authority for Probity, Prevention, and the Fight Against Corruption (INPPLC), in partnership with the ARIJ Network, organized a training session entitled “Data Journalism and Its Role in Combating Corruption” from June 23 to 27, 2025.
This training program brought together 18 journalists from various national media outlets, who participated in an intensive five-day program. The training focused on acquiring data analysis concepts and techniques, as well as applying them in the context of rigorous journalistic investigations.
During the opening of this session, Mr. Mohamed Benalilou, Chairman of the Authority, stressed that “data journalism is a key tool for enforcing the right of access to information, freeing public debate from opacity and superficiality, and directing it toward a deeper understanding based on the quality of data and the accuracy of the facts presented.”
This initiative is part of the INPPLC’s ongoing efforts to build the capacities of media professionals and builds on the momentum initiated by last year’s training program on investigative journalism.
