As part of his participation in the 11th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the ‎United Nations Convention against Corruption (CoSP 11), Mr. Mohamed Benalilou, Chairman ‎of the National Authority for Probity, Prevention and the Fight against Corruption (INPPLC), ‎held a bilateral meeting with Ms. Elizabeth Andersen, Executive Director of ‎the Basel Institute on Governance.‎

The meeting provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions on several areas of common ‎interest, as well as an examination of prospects for strengthening cooperation in the prevention ‎of corruption and the development of good governance mechanisms. Particular attention was ‎given to priority issues related to the Anti-Money Laundering Index (AML Index), which is ‎recognized as a benchmark tool for risk analysis and for strengthening preventive policies in ‎the fight against corruption.‎

Discussions also focused on ways to enhance cooperation, notably through the development ‎of forward-looking reports based on risk-analysis approaches, as well as the implementation of ‎joint actions with the private sector through participatory approaches on prevention ‎and the promotion of a culture of integrity within the economic fabric. In this context, the ‎discussions highlighted the opportunity for the National Authority to lead certain corruption-‎related regional initiatives in the MENA region.

This meeting forms part of the National Authority’s ongoing efforts to expand its network of ‎international partnerships and to strengthen its active involvement in global initiatives aimed at ‎promoting the values of transparency, integrity, and the fight against corruption. It thereby ‎contributes to consolidating the institutional role of the Kingdom of Morocco and showcasing ‎its experience in relevant international forums and initiatives.‎
