Responsibilities

In addition to the powers conferred upon it under Law 46.19, the Council exercises the following attributions:

  • Review and approve the draft annual action program of the Authority, as proposed by the President.

 

  • Approve the draft budget of the Authority.

 

  • Approve the draft internal regulations of the Authority.

 

  • Approve the staff regulations of the Authority.

 

  • Approve the regulations governing the award of contracts.

 

  • Approve draft cooperation agreements with public entities, non-governmental organizations, universities, and national and international research centers pursuing similar objectives in the field of corruption prevention and control.

 

  • Discuss and approve the draft annual report, as well as draft thematic studies and reports prepared by the Authority.

 

  • Discuss the results of the studies carried out by the observatory and make decision on the actions to be taken.

 

  • Issue opinions on matters referred to the Authority by the Government or either House of Parliament.

 

  • Issue opinions on draft legislative and regulatory texts within the Authority’s remit.

 

  • Discuss and approve proposals and recommendations submitted by the Authority to the Government or to either House of Parliament.

 

  • Issue any recommendation, proposal, or measure aimed at enhancing the Authority’s work, improving its performance, and enabling it to carry out its mandate under optimal conditions.
